Idkhari ("we", "our", or "us") is a personal finance management application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data transparently. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Information We Collect

Account Information: When you register, we collect your email address and an encrypted password. We do not store passwords in plain text.

Financial Data: The app stores financial information you voluntarily enter, including:

• Bank accounts and balances
• Transactions (income, expenses, transfers)
• Credit card information (name, last four digits, balances — never full card numbers)
• Loans and payment schedules
• Budgets and savings goals
• Recurring expenses
• Categories and labels

Device Information: We may collect basic device information for crash reporting and app functionality, including device type, operating system version, and app version.

SMS Data (Android only): If you enable SMS import, the app reads SMS messages locally on your device to identify bank transaction notifications. SMS content is processed on-device and is not uploaded to any server. Only the extracted transaction data (amount, merchant, date) is stored.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the app's functionality
• To sync your data across devices via your self-hosted server
• To generate financial insights, charts, and reports
• To send notifications about due payments, budget alerts, and savings milestones
• To authenticate your identity

Data Storage & Security

Your financial data is stored on a self-hosted Supabase backend that you control. Data is transmitted using HTTPS encryption. Local data on your device is stored in an encrypted SQLite database.

We do not sell, share, or provide your financial data to any third parties. We do not use your data for advertising or marketing purposes.

Biometric Data

If you enable biometric lock (Face ID or fingerprint), authentication is handled entirely by your device's secure enclave. We never store, access, or transmit biometric data.

Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can export your data at any time as a CSV file. You can delete your account and all associated data permanently from within the app's settings.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: View all your stored data within the app
• Export: Download your transaction data as CSV
• Delete: Permanently delete your account and all data
• Correct: Edit any incorrect information within the app

Children's Privacy

Idkhari is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
